MASA.KANAI is proud to announce that we are opening a second location! It will still be in the Upper West Side, but at the historic landmarks building - the Ansonia. Starting November 11th, Ritsuko and Hiroko will be moving to the Ansonia location. A more serene space in an overall grander location! We will have two private treatment rooms for you and your beloved one to receive Head Spas at the same time. Simultaneous appointments are only available Tuesdays through Fridays at the moment.
Once the new location opens on November 11th:
All Head Spa appointments on Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, & Sat will be performed at the Ansonia location.
Any Head Spa appointments on Sundays will be performed at the Columbus Location.

Making An Appointment
When contacting the salon, please inform the front desk that you are booking for the Head Spa so as to not be mistaken for other services such as haircuts, color, or other kinds of treatment.
Appointment books will be opened up to 3 months in advance. Guests are not obligated to plan exactly three months in advance; guests can choose any date within the three-month window. Due to high demand, availability can be very limited. To ensure securing an appointment for a desired date or time, we recommend booking as early as possible.
Appointments can be requested in-person, over the phone, or over email. For the booking, we would need:
Guest’s Full Name
Contact Number
Choice of Either 60min or 90min
50% Deposit (CC Number, Expiration Date, CCV required)
If any guest is uncomfortable providing their credit card details over email, visiting or calling the salon directly is advised. Please note that a deposit is required to complete to appointment. Without a paid deposit and credit card on file, the appointment will be considered invalid and removed from the books.
* Blow outs are not included in Head Spa services and have to be requested if desired. Otherwise, a simple rough dry will be offered. Please visit our FAQ page. MASA.KANAI will not be liable for any misunderstandings for questions already answered on our website. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out.
Credit Card Deposit
A 50% deposit is required upon reservation. MASA.KANAI has a 24 hour policy. If you need to make any changes to a scheduled appointment - whether cancelling, rescheduling, or changing what was booked, we kindly ask that you give us at least 24hr notice and we would be more than happy to refund the deposit. If any changes are made within 24hr, we would unfortunately have to keep the 50% deposit as a service fee. If you decide to do a different session than what was originally booked or you request that the service ends earlier than scheduled, you will still be liable for paying the cost of the original service that was booked if the requested change was made within 24hr of the appointment time. Tardiness
Please note that MASA.KANAI cannot guarantee service for any customer that arrives more than 15min late. We may try to provide a shortened session if possible; however, the customer will still be expected to pay the price of the original service. If no service can be accommodated to a late customer, MASA.KANAI reserves the right to keep the 50% deposit as a penalty fee. If no service can be accommodated and this becomes a rerunning issue with the late customer, MASA.KANAI reserves the right to charge a 100% penalty.
No Show
If a customer fails to show up to an appointment without any prior notice, MASA.KANAI will charge 100% of the intended service. The customer is responsible for honoring the appointment, regardless of whether or not a reminder message is received.
